Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: [Effective date]
This policy explains when tournament entry fees paid through PUB (“Pick Your Ball”) are refunded. It forms part of our Terms of Service. Individual tournaments may set stricter or more generous terms; where they do, the tournament page will say so and that wording applies.
1. Payments
- Entry fees are charged in Indian Rupees (INR) and processed by Razorpay. One payment can cover several divisions in the same tournament; each division's fee is refundable on its own under this policy.
- For doubles, one payment covers the team entry. Refunds go back to whoever made the payment.
- Refunds are always made to the original payment method (card, UPI, net banking or wallet). We cannot refund in cash or to a different account.
2. If you cancel
- Unpaid entries can be removed from your cart at any time from the event page. No fee is charged.
- Paid entries, cancelled up to [N] days before the tournament start date: refund of the entry fee minus [payment gateway charges / a cancellation fee of ₹[amount]].
- Paid entries, cancelled after that, or no-shows: [no refund / [X]% refund], because draws, schedules and court bookings are planned around confirmed entries.
- If your partner cancels, the team entry is treated as cancelled unless you arrange a replacement partner with the organiser before registration closes.
- To cancel a paid entry, email abhinay@pickyourball.com with your name, the tournament and division, and the payment reference from your receipt.
3. If the tournament or division changes
- Tournament cancelled by the organiser or PUB: full refund of all entry fees.
- Division cancelled or merged (for example, too few entries): you can move to another division, if eligible, or take a full refund of that division's fee.
- Postponed to a new date: your entry carries over. If you can't make the new date, ask for a full refund within [7] days of the announcement.
- Weather, venue problems or other events outside anyone's control on the day: the organiser will try to reschedule. Refunds, if any, are [at the organiser's discretion / a [X]% refund].
4. Registrations that are not accepted
- If a paid registration is declined because it does not meet the division requirements (age, gender, rating), you get a full refund of that division’s fee.
- Divisions that need a connected DUPR account: if you or your partner have not connected DUPR by [the registration close date], the entry may be left out of the draw. [Confirm: full refund, partial refund or no refund in this case.]
5. Failed, pending and duplicate payments
- If a payment fails but money left your account, it was not received by us. Your bank or Razorpay reverses it automatically, usually within 5–7 working days.
- If you were charged twice for the same entries, the extra payment is refunded in full. Email us with both payment references if it has not appeared within [7] working days.
- If a payment is still pending with your bank, wait before paying again. The event page shows your entry as paid once the bank confirms it.
6. How long refunds take
Approved refunds are initiated within [7] working days. After that, banks usually take 5–7 working days to show the money in your account (UPI is often faster). You will get an email when the refund is initiated.
